If you're anything like me, on days like Mother’s Day, it can feel like we are imperfect mothers playing make believe on socail media as perfect moms--the kind of mothers who inspire those cards about amazing women, that we know, we aren’t. But despite all my imperfections, I am learning to believe that I am a good mother, and chances are... You are too.
But it is SO HARD not to compare. God knows I do. And social media doesn't make it any easier on us. What if that was our Mother's Day gift to each other? What if we just stopped comparing??
The only proof we need that we are good mommas is that we are moms who are actively adventuring with God in our parenting. God sees us for who we really are, and he STILL guides us into the world of parenting. Mommas, our work is sacred, seen, and even on your worst days, you are loved.
“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future” Psalm 31: 25-26
